Cat & Kite, the perfect combination between a sailing and kite holiday!

We were lucky enough to board on Pluto in mid-July 2019, a beautifully maintained 47-foot Nautitech catamaran with everything on board (generator, watermaker, scuba, sup, fishing equipment, …) and with a fantastic crew.

Our Captain Alessio knows the Ionian Sea like the back of his hand, always knows how to find the thermal wind and almost daily fishes a tasty fish with his harpoon.

Daisy provides the atmosphere and tasty meals and Baptiste, our kite-pro and Greek Freestyle champion, can safely take off the kites on board and land without knots even on a rough sea, a real added value to kite without stress in the open sea.

I had some doubts about the wind in July on the Ionian Sea when watching Windguru. The apps, of course, do not take into account the thermal wind that usually arises around 3 p.m. While the national kite spots mostly lacked wind, we managed to find the right place every day (15-22 Knots, sail 10-15m), usually in the middle of the sea between two islands thanks to our experienced crew.

During the kite session, the catamaran floats quietly with the wind and the current, so we did not have to constantly go upwind and concentrate on new tricks. In fact, this is the perfect downwind, because you can quickly switch kites or boards on the way, get advice from a pro or take unique photos.

A fantastic experience in family or among friends, but reserved for kiters who are completely autonomous on the water.
